B i o g r a p h y

Rebecca grew up in Birmingham, where she was involved in many productions at the Crescent Theatre and with the Crescent Youth Theatre.  She went on to study at the London College of Music with Eileen Price, and whilst at Music College was a founder member of the European Youth Choir with whom she toured throughout Europe.  Rebecca also sang with both the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields Chorus and the London Philharmonic Choir.  In her final year, Rebecca sang the role of Eppie in the London Premiere of Howard Goodall’s Silas Marner.  Rebecca is currently continuing her studies with Vivien Pike. 

 

Rebecca has a wide repertoire as a soloist on the concert platform, ranging from early music to 20th Century works.  These have included: Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, Poulenc’s Gloria, Rutter’s Mass of the Children, Bach’s Easter Oratorio, Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Exsultate Jubilate, Faure’s Requem, and Vivaldi’s Gloria performed at a variety of venues across the Midlands.  Rebecca recently sang in the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of The Merchant of Venice.

 

Rebecca has also enjoyed many successes at various Music festivals, including York Festival of Singing and Leamington Spa Competitive Festival where she recently won the Courier Cup Song Trophy.  She also recently won both the City of Sheffield Teachers' Choir Silver Salver and the Constance Shacklock Memorial Rose Bowl in the David Clover Festival of Singing final.
